What makes expatriate assignments successful?

Abstract
Clear objectives and rational management will enhance the likelihood of success of an organization's expatriate program. In this article, the authors propose a seven-step methodology that will help commercial organizations ensure that expatriate postings are managed effectively and efficiently. In particular, the authors stress the importance of planning the fruitful reintegration of repatriates on their return to Head Office and mention some emerging issues related to repatriation.
